Related Beal names Kimberly Sherman Stamler president

Related Beal, the Boston-based affiliate of Related Companies, today announced that Kimberly Sherman Stamler has been named president. In this role, she will be responsible for the overall management of the firm, and will lead the company in its pursuit of new development and deal opportunities and in all financing activities across the Boston business units. She will continue to work closely with Related Beal chairman, Bruce Beal Sr. Ms. Sherman Stamler joined Related Beal in August of 2014 as chief operating officer after working in Related’s New York City office since 1999.

Bruce Beal Sr., chairman of Related Beal, said, “Over the past year, Kim has shown great leadership as we have continued to grow as a company. She has steered several new complex transactions in Boston to the finish line and, working together, we have added new talent in all areas to support our expanding platform. Kim has been working closely with the Related Beal team for over a decade, shares our vision for the future and I am confident she will excel in this new role as she takes on this leadership role of the company.”

Ms. Sherman Stamler will also continue to work closely with Related CEO Jeff Blau and Related President Bruce Beal Jr. as the platform expands. Ms. Sherman Stamler has 17 years of senior real estate experience. In her previous roles at Related Beal and Related, Kim worked with the Related Beal platform in conceptualizing and financing Parcel 1B, Boston’s largest affordable housing development in 25 years, the Quinzani Bakery site acquisition in the South End and the execution and management of Related Fund Management deals including The Arlington in the Back Bay.

Throughout her career she has been responsible for over $2 billion in development in virtually every sector of the real estate industry—acquisitions, financing and development execution, with oversight on leasing, marketing and sales. Ms. Sherman Stamler graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Pennsylvania with a major in Urban Studies. Ms. Sherman Stamler joined Related Companies in 1999 and was previously responsible for overseeing Related’s residential operating portfolio including the retail within Related’s buildings.

In partnership with Hudson Companies, Ms. Sherman Stamler has been responsible for the development of five buildings at Riverwalk on Roosevelt Island as well as for the evolution of this 19-acre site to a community, adding new park space and local and national retailers. Ms. Sherman Stamler previously worked on the expansion of Related into Chicago and was the development executive on The Clarendon and One Back Bay in Boston, beginning her work on that project in 2003.
