Westminster Village is a 432-unit, garden-style apartment complex located in Lowell, Massachusetts overlooking the Merrimack River. It is comprised of 36 three-story buildings across 20 acres and includes a swimming pool, clubhouse, computer room and laundry facilities. Originally, built in 1970 and previously renovated in 1995, Related Affordable acquired the property in September 2011 utilizing tax-exempt bonds from Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency and equity from the sale of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to MetLife via Alliant Capital. Upon acquisition, the property underwent $7.6 million dollars in renovation, which included: complete interior upgrades, ADA accessibility upgrades, new roofs, windows and siding, landscape and site work upgrades, clubhouse expansion and the addition of a computer lab.
